Riyadh, Dhu-AlQa'dah 30, 1438, August 22, 2017, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas.
Okaz newspaper wrote about politicization of Hajj, saying the Qatar's refusal to grant permission for landing of Saudi planes at Doha airport to transport pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the expense of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who ordered that Qatari pilgrims be guests at his program to host thousands of pilgrims from around the globe, noting that this refusal is an attempt to politicize Hajj.
Al-Yaum newspaper wrote about Qatar, saying Sheikh Abdullah bin Ali bin Abdullah Al Thani, the son, and brother of the former two Qatari Emirs is considered to be one of the authoritative figures in the State of Qatar, adding that his mediation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to facilitate the passage of pilgrims from Salwa border crossing point is an appreciated one, and has no personal purpose as the Qatari foreign minister claimed.
