Moscow, Muharram 17, 1439, Oct 7, 2017, SPA -- The head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev stressed that the historic visit of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to the Russian Federation has been a success.
He said in a speech during a meeting with Saudi media men, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Moscow: "The meeting between the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Russian President Vladimir Putin was positive, as they discussed a number of issues and topics of common interest to the Kingdom, Russia and the region of the Middle East as well as economic and investment cooperation between us and they agreed on a number of important agreements such as military cooperation.
Dmitriev thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz for their efforts in improving and developing relations with the Russian Federation.
The Fund head added that: Russian President Vladimir Putin met in 2015 with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz when he visited Russia, during which the two sides discussed the level of cooperation between the two countries, and then there were no Saudi-Russian investments, except a few companies, but a large number of agreements started almost beyond zero after the visit of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and his meeting with President Vladimir Putin to discuss the stability of the oil market.
The head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund talked about investments between the two countries and the investment forum, pointing out that the value of investments amounted to currently $ 10 billion, noting that these projects have significant positive advantages. We announced an energy market and the other fund in the field of technology, he stated, indicating that a number of Russian companies such as Cebu, which produces petroleum products and a gas company based on Russian industrial gas projects, have announced plans to work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The vision of the Kingdom 2030 has a great interest in the sectors of the Kingdom in terms of investment and economy to grow significantly, and we are happy with the trend, he said.
Dmitriev disclosed that 200 Saudi companies were in the joint agreements between the companies for the production of fertilizers as a company that signed agreements during the first Saudi-Russian investment forum.
"We welcome the other important agreements that have been announced in the technical and military fields, and I am confident that we will continue in the field of energy and efforts to stabilize the price of oil, he emphasized.
He pointed out that businessmen in Russia are impressed by the presence of the delegation of Saudi businessmen in Russia, who are supported by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
"We worked from morning to evening in Russia with ministers and businessmen to cooperate between the two parties" he said, pointing out that the meeting of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev was successful and it was agreed to accelerate the steps to implement the conventions and memorandums of understanding.
Dmitriev praised the role of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, since two years ago, who supported the relations between the Kingdom and Russia, stressing that the Crown Prince decisive steps led to reaching many agreements in the field of development and investment.
