Riyadh, May 29, SPA -- An official source at the Ministry of Interior today said three Saudi nationals who have been detained in Guantanamo Bay were referred to justice as they have admitted to have been present in troubled areas without obtaining the consent of their parents or permission from the country's authority in addition to having committed other violations, including using forged documents and putting the life of their families at stake.
Accordingly, two of them were sentenced to one year in prison while the third was sentenced to the period he has spent in Guantanamo.
The three convicts have acknowledged the rule, pending approval by the court of cassation.
Accordingly, they have been released on legal guarantees, the source concluded.
