Riyadh, Muharram 28, 1439, October 18, 2017, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas.
Al-Riyadh newspaper commented on Iraq, saying the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has affirmed the Kingdom's support for Iraq's unity, security and stability and the adherence of all parties to self-restraint and handling the crisis through dialogue.
The paper noted that the King's position embodied the conscience of the nation and stressed the Kingdom's keenness on Iraq's unity and making it avoid more internal conflicts to be added to the long list of the Kingdom's positions that formed the most important features of the Saudi policy towards Arab and Islamic countries since its foundation by late King Abdulaziz as it has stood with sisterly countries and contributed directly to resolving their crises and bringing them out of conflicts threatening their entities.
Al-Yaum newspaper commented in its editorial entitled "The Saudi-Kuwaiti Summit and Qatari Violations", saying that Kuwait is seeking through its good mediation to heal the Gulf rift caused by the Qatari crisis which might prevent the GCC from holding its next consultative summit, indicating that the Kingdom is committed to its firm position on the crisis along with anti-terrorism countries calling on the Qatari regime to comply with the demands presented to it as an ideal way to contain the phenomenon of terrorism which Doha continues to support it as well as its symbols with all forms and manifestations.
