SFDA suspends import of frozen shrimp from Texas, USA; and bans poultry meat, eggs from Philippines

Riyadh, 03 Safar,1439 AH, 23 October,2017 , SPA -- Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has suspended the import of refrigerated and frozen shrimp from Texas (USA) due to the appearance of acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease.
The Authority said in a statement on its website www.sfda.gov.sa that its decision was based on the warning issued by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) which includes the presence of cases of the disease in Texas.
