Arab Coalition Forces's Command: Saudi Royal Air Defense Forces Intercept and Destroy a Ballistic Missile Fired at Najran.

Riyadh, Rabi'II 18, 1439, January 05, 2018, SPA -- The Spokesman of the Arab Coalition Forces for Supporting the Legitimacy in Yemen Col. Turki Al-Malki said that at 7:56 a.m, the Air Defense Forces of the Arab coalition spotted the launch of a ballistic missile from Yemeni territory towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's lands.
Col. Al-Maliki said that the missile was deliberately launched toward Najran to target civilian areas and population, but it was intercepted and destroyed by the Brigades "Patriot in the sky of Najran.
The scattered fragments objection of the missile caused a minor damage to private property of one citizen and no loss of life.
Al-Maliki added that this hostile action by the Iranian-backed Houthi militias proves the continued involvement of the Iranian regime in supporting the Houthi armed militias with qualitative capabilities in clear and explicit defiance of the UN resolution 2216 and resolution 2231 aimed at threatening the security of Saudi Arabia and threatening regional and international security, as firing ballistic missiles at densely populated cities and villages is contrary to international humanitarian law.
Colonel Al-Maliki renewed his call for the international community to take more serious and effective steps to stop the blatant Iranian violations of the continued smuggling and transfer of ballistic missiles and weapons to terrorist groups and outlaws, and to hold it accountable for its support and blatant defiance of international norms and values, and threats to regional and international security.
