Riyadh, Dhu-AlQa'dah 12, 1439, July 25, 2018, SPA -- Colonel Turki Al Malki, the Official Spokesman of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, stated that at (01:15) this morning, a Saudi oil tanker was subjected to a terrorist (Iranian-Houthi) attack in the International Waters West of Port of Hodeida, which is controlled by the terrorist Iranian-Houthi militia. Thankfully the attack failed due to immediate intervention of the Coalition’s fleet. The tanker sustained minimal damages as a result of this terrorist attack.
Col. Al Malki emphasized: “This terrorist attack is a dangerous threat to the Freedom of Navigation and International Trade in the Red Sea and Bab-El-Mandeb Strait, which might result in environmental and economic losses.”
He added: “The continuation of such attempts proves the real threat of this militia and the ones supporting it to Regional and International Security. Port of Hodeida is still the starting point of terrorist attacks.”
Col. Al Malki reaffirmed: “The Joint Forces Command of the Coalition has and will always implement all security and precautionary measures to sustain safety and security of Freedom of Navigation and International Trade in the Red Sea and Bab-el-Mandeb Strait. The Joint Forces Command will continue its core role to stabilize and secure Yemen, contribute in protecting and securing Regional, International Security and Economy.”
Col. Al Malki reiterated the significance of delivering Hodeida City and Port to the Legitimate Government of Yemen, and that will put an end to their use as a military base to launch terrorist attacks against Maritime lanes and International Trade.
