KSrelief Hails WFP Statement Condemning Al-Houthi Militia

Riyadh, May 21, 2019, SPA -- King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) said it has repeatedly called on the international community and the United Nations and its organizations and agencies working in Yemen to confront and address the violations by Iranian-backed Al-Houthi militia that are blocking, looting and damaging humanitarian aid.
KSrelief indicating the statement issued by the World Food Program (WFP) yesterday condemning Al-Houthi militias which preventing humanitarian workers from distributing food to the needy in areas under their control in Yemen.
WFP also threatened to stop the distribution of food because of fears of embezzlement and non-delivery of aid to their beneficiaries and ban convoys of food aid obstacles to their distribution and interference with beneficiary lists, thereby hampering the work and objectives of the program.
KSrelief stressed in its statement that it is time for the international community and the United Nations with its agencies to take the strongest measures and decisions to prevent the recurrence of such inhumane actions and pressure on Al-Houthi militias to allow the distribution of humanitarian assistance to the beneficiaries within the areas controlled by Al-Houthis.
Moreover, it also stressed the keenness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Center to deliver humanitarian assistance to all areas of Yemen, including areas controlled by these militias outside of international law.
