Health Minister Receives Global Award Granted to KSA for its Leading Role in Fight against Smoking

Riyadh, May 22, 2019, SPA -- Minister of Health Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah received in Geneva today a global award granted to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its excellency and leading role in combating smoking in term of society awareness, treatment and application of strict regulations.
This came during the 72th session of the World Health Assembly, currently held in Geneva under the title "Comprehensive Health Coverage".
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was one of the first countries to ratify WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control in 2005, as it adopted an ambitious strategic tobacco control plan to reduce tobacco use from 12.7% in 2017 to 5% in 2030.
