KSA Permanent Representative to UN Takes Part, in Arab Group Meeting

New York, April 10, 2020, SPA -- Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to the United Nations Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahiya Al-Muallami has participated in the meeting of the United Nations' Arab Group, held via video communications, held at the level permanent representatives.
During the meeting, they reviewed the Arab efforts to combat COVID-19 pandemic, Arab issues of common concern, especially the Palestinian cause, and the current political challenges facing Arab countries, on the international arena.
Al-Muallami briefed the Arab group on announcement of the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy, in Yemen, for a two-week comprehensive ceasefire as of Thursday, April 9, in response to the call of the UN Secretary-General and the call of UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths.
Al-Muallami also briefed the Arab Group on the Kingdom's efforts in supporting Yemen, in all fields, including its contribution of $500 million to support the humanitarian response plan, in Yemen, for the year 2020, in addition to $25 million to support the efforts of the Yemeni government, in confronting COVID-19 pandemic.
