London, Dec 4, 2020, SPA -- The chief negotiators for the European Union and Britain say Brexit talks in London are "paused" while they brief
their principals on the state of play of the negotiations, dpa reported.
"After one week of intense negotiations in London the two Chief Negotiators agreed today that the conditions for an agreement are not met, due to significant divergences on level playing field, governance and fisheries," EU chief negotiator Michel Barnier and British counterpart David Frost wrote in a joint statement posted on Twitter.
British and EU negotiators representing the bloc's 27 member states are running out of time to reach an agreement that would cover terms of trade, but also police and justice cooperation, and social security arrangements to name a few.
