United Nations Welcomes Saudi Arabia's Initiative to End Yemeni Crisis

United Nations, March 23, 2021, SPA -- The United Nations welcomed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia initiative to end the Yemeni crisis and reach a comprehensive political solution.
In the daily press briefing, the Deputy Spokesman for the United Nations, Farhan Haq, confirmed that this effort is in line with the initiatives of the United Nations, welcoming the Kingdom's support for the United Nations efforts.
Farhan Haq said that the UN Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths is working to secure a nationwide ceasefire in Yemen, reopen Sanaa Airport to civilians and air navigation, allow more fuel and goods to enter Hodeidah port, and resume the political process to end the conflict.
He stressed the need to exert all efforts to end the conflict in Yemen and address the suffering of the Yemeni people, stressing the aspiration of the United Nations to continue its work with the parties to achieve this goal.
