Saudi Press: Social Responsibility Leads Next Phase of Controlling Pandemic

Riyadh, May 18, 2021, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas.
Al-Riyadh newspaper reported in its editorial that the public and private sector employees are back today to work after Eid break. Moreover, on Monday, the government of Saudi Arabia lifted the travel ban, as the decision to allow international travel came into force after a 427-day suspension period.
The newspaper added that based on all mentioned information and the resumption of different activities in Saudi Arabia, it is clear that the government refuses to impose a lockdown. The government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is keen on resuming economic activities.
The return to normal life requires citizens and residents to fully adhere to precautionary measures and preventive procedures that will protect all from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the newspaper affirmed.
The newspaper concluded that since the emergence of the coronavirus in Wuhan city, China, the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been exerting tremendous and qualitative efforts to confront the pandemic. Additionally, it has taken proactive decisions and imposed strict precautionary measures and preventive procedures in order to save lives. Today, it has been proven to the world that the pandemic’s ending is not soon; therefore, countries have to adapt to its existence with the return to normal life. Finally, the citizen and resident play an important role during this important period of time by fully adhering to health protocols and following the government’s instructions.
In another context, Al-Yaum newspaper reported in its editorial that at a time when the coronavirus pandemic has affected all aspects of life and the Saudi government increased support related to the health sector to be able to treat the infected individuals and provided vaccines for all people, every individual in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia must recognize all these efforts that has been made by the government and in order to protect people from this pandemic.
The newspaper pointed to the ports that have witnessed a massive turnout after the Ministry of Interior's decision to lift the suspension of citizens' travel outside the Kingdom came into force.
During the coronavirus time, there is no destination that will have the full ability to receive tourists. The tourists will have to go through precautionary measures that may be less efficient and more complicated than the ones in Saudi Arabia, the newspaper concluded.
