Nutrition Support Project for Children, Mothers Provides Services to 61,584 Beneficiaries

Aden, September 12, 2021, SPA -- The nutrition project for children under the age of five and nursing and pregnant mothers, with the support of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), has continued providing medical and nutrition services to beneficiaries in Aden, Lahj, Taiz, Hodeidah, Hadhramaut, Hajjah and Marib governorates in Yemen, where the number of beneficiaries in August totaled 61,584.
A total of 13,140 children cases were reviewed and treatment was provided for 1,230 who suffer from severe acute malnutrition and for 2,052 who suffer from moderate malnutrition, in addition to providing medical services for 1,603 children to protect them against malnutrition.
As many as 7,166 pregnant and nursing mothers cases were reviewed and treatment was provided for 1,640 cases. Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) services were offered to 9,170 beneficiaries, in addition to providing awareness activities to 19,895 beneficiaries and counseling services to 5,688 beneficiaries.
These services are part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's efforts, through KSrelief, to alleviate the suffering of Yemenis due to the current humanitarian crisis.
