Real Madrid Wins European Super Cup for 5th Time in History by Beating Frankfurt

Madrid, Aug 11, 2022, SPA -- Real Madrid won the European Super Cup for the fifth time in history on Wednesday evening. The team of coach Carlo Ancelotti was 2-0 too strong for Europa League winner Eintracht Frankfurt in Helsinki, Finland.
Defender David Alaba signed for the opening goal in the first half (37th minute) of the match, which was held at Helsinki Olympic Stadium in the Finnish capital.
In the second half, Karim Benzema added the second goal.
It is worth mentioning that Real Madrid had before won the European Super Cup four times, most recently in 2017, while the Germany's Eintracht Frankfurt won the title twice in 1976 and 1978.
