Speaker of Saudi Shura Council Participates in International Meeting of Shura Councils, Similar Councils in Islamic World

Riyadh, October 26, 2022, SPA -- Speaker of the Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh headed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s delegation participating in the international meeting of the Shura Councils and similar councils in the Islamic world, which is being held in Bandung, the Republic of Indonesia with the participation of several speakers.
The meeting started with a ceremony that included a speech by Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly of Indonesia Bambang Soesatyo who stressed the importance of ongoing communication among Islamic countries and the importance of joint action to realize peace and sustainable development, noting that overcoming the last epidemiological status made all believe that collective action is basic in overcoming all hardships.
Secretary General of the Parliamentary Union of Organization of Islamic Cooperation Member States Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass stressed that the union exerts more efforts to address challenges facing the world, reiterating the importance of roles played by the union at the parliamentary level.
Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs of Indonesia Mohammad Mahfud, in a speech on behalf of the Indonesian president, said that challenges facing the world and current international crises require more cooperation among all countries, stressing the need for permanent communication among countries of the Islamic world, and expressing aspiration for this meeting to meet all hopes and aspirations.
Later, the meeting reviewed several issues listed on its agenda, which were discussed with speakers of Shura councils and similar councils in the Islamic world.
