Taiz, Yemen, January 26, 2023, SPA -- The Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, represented by the Program of Communication with Yemeni Scholars and in cooperation with the Ministry of Awqaf and Guidance in Yemen, yesterday organized a symposium titled: “Houthis and replicating Iranian rituals… risks and duties,” in Taiz.
The symposium aims at expanding popular participation in countering the Houthi project and raising the readiness of Yemeni society intellectually and culturally and highlighting the role of scholars in preserving the identity and belief of the Yemeni people from misguided ideas and practices.
The symposium provided three working papers focusing on the dangers of uprooting the sources of moderate ideology in Yemen, the Houthi's attempts to localize Farsi sectarian rituals and practices through reviewing models of such attempts, and the duty of all to confront this threat that targets the identity of the Yemeni people.
It also called for focusing further on education and teachers, instilling the right faith, emphasizing the role of media in instilling values and promoting Yemen's centrist identity.
The symposium included discussing several points on the Houthi destruction process from Dammaj Governorate to other governorates, including Taiz Governorate, warning of the danger of the Houthi movement in destroying the Yemeni society and its relentless endeavor to uproot the Yemeni identity and loot its wealth and capabilities.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, represented by the Program of Communication with Yemeni Scholars, exerts big efforts in raising awareness against the threats of Houthis and their terrorist ideology, preserving the Yemeni identity and belief, and enhancing resilience and national unity in a bid to liberate all Yemeni areas from the Iran-backed Houthi militia.
