Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques: Increasing Capacity of the Grand Mosque to 50,000 Umrah Performers and 100,000 Worshipers in Ramadan

Makkah, Apr. 06, 2021, SPA -- An official source at the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque stated that emanating from the wise leadership’s keenness to preserve the health and safety of Umrah performers and worshipers of the Grand Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan, it has been decided to increase the capacity of the Grand Mosque in Makkah to (50,000) Umrah performers and (100,000) worshipers per day for immunized people, according to the (Tawakkalna) application for immunization categories (immune person who received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine / immune person after 14 days of receiving the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine / immune person who has recovered from the infection). This decision will go into effect on Ramadan 1, 1442H, while adhering to the precautionary and preventive measures.
The source affirmed that the main and accredited platforms for obtaining Umrah and prayer permits are through the (Eatmarna) and (Tawakkalna) applications, warning against fake platforms and websites.
The source also indicated that entering the Grand Mosque requires showing the permit to the relevant authorities through the application (Tawakkalna), from the account of the Umrah performer or the worshiper directly.
