Saudi Press: Speech of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques at 15th G20 Leaders' Summit Draws a Roadmap for an Ideal World

Riyadh, November 22, 2020, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas.
Al-Riyadh newspaper reported in its editorial that the speech of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud at the 15th G20 Leaders' Summit came to reassure everyone of the possibility of overcoming the Coronavirus pandemic and its repercussions, through continuous coordination and cooperation between countries and nations.
The King’s speech focused on the efforts made to discover safe vaccines for the virus, where he also called for securing these vaccines and creating the conditions for affordable and equitable access to these tools for all peoples, the newspaper added.
The paper farther added optimism appears in the speech, when the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques called again to continue supporting the global economy and reopen our economies and borders to facilitate the mobility of trade and people, while providing support to developing countries in a coordinated manner to preserve the development progress made over the past decades.
The newspaper concluded that the comprehensiveness of the speech makes it a road map towards an ideal world, as the King was keen on balance between hope and warning when he said: “The world has to prepare better for future pandemics”, which is an important call that makes the world ready for any unmet emergencies.
Okaz newspaper said that in a summit that is considered the most important in the history of the G20 summits since the leaders of its member states first met 12 years ago, Saudi Arabia kept the goal of realizing the opportunities of the 21st century for all, believing that realizing opportunities is the basis for overcoming the global challenge and shaping a better future for peoples.
The Saudi leadership's belief in the collective and participatory approach as the most effective way to confront the pandemic and global crises and this was evident in the speech of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques where he stressed on the importance of international cooperation during this critical and sensitive time, as Riyadh summit played a role in restoring hope to the peoples and advancing and unifying International efforts to confront the Covid-19 crisis.
The newspaper concluded that Saudi Arabia’s leadership, through its presidency of the G20, has proven its ability and position among the top countries of the group, and has magnified its role as an essential element for leading regional stability, which enabled it to adopt Riyadh Initiative on the Future of the WTO, with the aim of making the multilateral trading system more capable to face any present or future challenges.
